DISGRACED GAY RIGHTS ACTIVIST AND CAMPAIGNER, EMMANUEL OSEZELE ABURE DISAPPEARS WITHOUT A TRACE

Emmanuel Osezele Abure knows first-hand how tough life is for people who are openly Gay in Nigeria, where LGBTQ+ relationships and even sane sex displays of affection are illegal before he took the risk of openly leading a protest march and rally for LGBTQ Rights in Esan.
Edotodaynews learnt that, Early this year, he was kidnapped by five men who blackmailed, extorted, and tortured him for several days in an attack that has since left him constantly looking over his shoulders.
In our last interview with him during their protest march and rally, Emmanuel Osezele Abure, lamented that the hatred his family and friends and the community had towards him was acrimonious, hate and bias. It was like a taboo, an outcast, like a lonely man walking in a lonely street because of his sex and Genda. He was both gay and bisexual by all standards.
He boasted that he was going to join the LGBTQ+ in the coming months to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month in Lagos to continue to fight, struggle and push back at government and Society.
Since the aftershock and aftermath of the trauma of his abduction, Emmanuel Osezele Abure is said to have suddenly disappeared into the thin air after it was alleged in family circle that he had sold his father’s land which belonged to his entire family and fled from Uromi to Lagos where he was said to have disappeared without a trace.
The general public is informed by his family that anyone with news of his whereabouts should inform his family at Uromi or contact the nearest Police Station.
