The Russian Foreign Ministry says the West’s destructive behavior could lead to Russia’s withdrawal from the Arctic Council

Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Nikolai Korchunov discussed what could prompt Russia to withdraw from the Arctic Council. According to him, Russia will not tolerate the destructive behavior of Western countries. Korchunov said so in an interview with TASS.
The roving ambassador noted that one of the examples of destructive behavior is Russia’s non-invitation to Arctic Council events.
Korchunov drew attention to the fact that Russia will make decisions about the council, based on the actions of Western countries and respect for its rights and interests as a participant.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced the possibility of an escalation of the conflict in the Arctic due to NATO enlargement. Russia is not happy that the alliance is increasing the scale of its military exercises in the region
